Post 3: Book 1 Project

Have you ever read a book and wondered what the setting would look like in real life? Based on the New York Times best seller, Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs, an attraction will be made using the children that live in the house.  it will feature Emma, the girl that can make fire with her hands, Millard, the invisible boy that can only be seen when he has clothes on, a girl that can make plants grow by hovering her hand over the ground, and all the other children in the house.  Of course it would feature Miss Peregrine herself to lead you through her house of peculiar children. It will look excactly how Riggs describes the house and it's surroundings in the book. You will enter through the bog as Jake does to get to the house.

You will start out how Jake did, in the basement looking through pictures in an old trunk. Then you will find Emma and she takes you through the house on a tour and then eventually outside to see how the children spend their day.  After you go through the tour, the children preform a show for you showcasing their talents. It starts with Milliard with nothing but a straw hat on introducing the show.

"Ladieees and Gentlemen!" he crowed. "It gives me the utmost pleasure to present to you a performance like no other in history! A show of such unrivaled daring, of such accomplished magicianship, that you simply won't believe your eyes! Good citizens, I give you Miss Peregrine and her peculiar children!"

It relates to the book because when Jake visits the house for the second time, he meets Emma at the bog and they run to the yard, where there are chairs set up and they put on a show to show him all of their talents.  also, when he first finds the house, he finds an old trunk and wants to open it but can't so he pushes it down the stairs and it breaks through the floor into the basement.  When he goes after it, and starts looking through the pictures, the kids that are in the time loop, find him and take him back to the house in the time loop where the bird, Miss Peregrine recognizes him as Abe's grandson, who used to live in the house.

"Good Afternoon,," the lady said, looking up. " You must be Jacob." Emma gaped at her, " How do you know his-" "My name is Headmistress Peregrine," she said holding up a finger to silence Emma, " or if you prefer, since you are not under my care, Miss Peregrine. Pleased to finally meet you."

This idea can make the audience bigger because they can feel like they are apart of the story and that's what makes a book a lot more interesting and people are more willing to dive into the book rather than just hearing about it. The attraction will include a merchandise store where you can purchase items and hear about what the author is planning to do next.
What the house would look like outside the entrance.

Inside the entrance, going " back in time"

Post #2: What is a Book?

A  book is an escape to a different reality.  You can feel characters emotions, see what they see, smell, hear, and touch what they touch all by how the author describes it.  To some people, the way a book feels and smells adds to the experience of reading a book and makes it more interesting.

For example, the book i am currently reading, Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children, the author paints the picture by using pictures from old circus posters to help visualize the characters in the home that have special talents. although they aren't edited very well, it helps you visualize them and imagine the story in your head better.  The pictures in the book make it more interesting because when he describes what the people are doing, like making trees grow, you can visualize it in your head.

I read because I feel it makes you smarter because you're open to more vocabulary than you are used to.  If you open yourself up to higher vocabulary, I feel you get smarter and comprehend things you may not have been able to before. I also read because you can really get absorbed in a book per say, and I really enjoy that about books.  When I get really into a book, I can't stop reading.   If I got into a really good book, I would read for hours upon hours until my eyes hurt or i just fall asleep.  And then i would do it again and again until I finished the book.

Reading also gives advice for life as well.  Sometimes you may think, "Oh, I won't ever need to use this in my life." But most of the time, the things you think you don't need, are the things you need the most.  Books make me go into deep thought sometimes.  Thoughts about life in general or some other things like real world problems people face daily.  And I think that's important because no one would think about that daily.
